FSR Annual Scholarships

It’s such an exciting time to be a woman in the energy sector if you boldly take advantage of the various opportunities while seeking the necessary support to overcome the existing barriers. The Lights on Women Scholarship is evidence once again that when women receive the right support, we all stand a better chance of achieving the SDGs.

I wanted to have a better understanding of electricity and gas markets operated and how they were regulated (...) I found the material very interesting, very high level, and I also got many recommendations from people in the industry.

For women to strengthen their role in the energy sector and policy-making, it is necessary that we are provided with equal access to training, mentoring, and networking opportunities. This scholarship is a great opportunity for my future career to improve and potentially initiate new policies in my country and overall develop my skills and advance my knowledge.

It is exciting that my last years of professional experience in energy access have been recognized by an institution like FSR through the Lights on Women Scholarship. The opportunity to take a course to further learn about trends and regulations in the energy sector while connecting with like-minded peers will allow me to further grow professionally and personally

Receiving the FSR Solidarity Scholarship allowed me to participate in the course “European Energy Transition: Actors, Factors, Sectors” during the first lockdown of the COVID-19 epidemic. Joining this course has been an incredible game-changer for my personal development and work career: it provided me with exceptionally up-to-date knowledge of the most recent energy and environmental policies at the EU level, together with the opportunity to discuss with renowned professionals and academics of the area."
