Energy Africa Workshop & Photo Exhibition in Milan

The FSR and WAME are pleased to invite you to:

Photo Exhibition: Africa – a continent loaded with energy

Opening on 23 November at 7.15pm

40 shots, 40 stories, 40 small testimonies portraying access to energy, the theme of this year’s Africa exhibition.

The photographs of Marco Garofalo take us on a tour to Tanzania, Kenya and Ghana to tell the story of how millions of people have gained access to energy: some to more, while others to less energy; some to good while others to less reliable energy. From family portraits to illustrative photographs that document everyday life from the panoramic African landscapes to raids in the slums of Nairobi and Accra.

The exhibition aims to give a voice to the beneficiaries of development programs. It is a contribution to finding answers to the many questions that arise when we face a great challenge which tests the collaboration between the north and the south of the world, the complexity of relations between states, the role of companies, the usefulness of international aid, and the effectiveness of policies. In truth, in seeking answers, it raises new questions, through people’s expressions and the representation of contexts.
