Biography

Martin Godfried is the first head of the REMIT Investigations Department at the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (since September 2024). Previously, he led the Agency’s Market Surveillance and Conduct Department (2016-2024) and worked at the following positions: at the Agency’s Electricity Department (2011-2016), the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission (2005-2011), the Dutch energy regulator and competition authority (1998-2005), and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (1996-1997). Martin holds an MA in economics from the University of Amsterdam. Together with Alberto Pototschnig, he is Director of the ACER-FSR course REMIT and its implementation.
