
André Andrade has over 20 years of professional experience in public policies, public management, economics and sustainability. During this time, he exceled technical, advisory, and managerial positions related to environmental and climate policies at different organizations in the Brazilian government. He was actively involved in many policies and governmental programs (e.g., climate governance; forest concessions, carbon pricing, payment for ecosystem services; environmental accounting). He has also developed a distinguished academic career, having been an Associate Professor of Economics at the State University of Santa Catarina (Brazil) and has many publications on the field of sustainability. André has a strong network with state and non-state stakeholders in the field of environment, climate change and energy, especially in Brazil, Latin America and Europe. More recently, he was co-author of the WRI study “A New Economy for a New Era: Elements for Building a More Efficient and Resilient Economy in Brazil”. He is currently PhD Candidate at University of Potsdam, where his research topic is entitled “Governing Climate Change in Brazil: a governance gap analysis of selected cases”.
