Innogrid 2020+: FSR joins the TSOs-DSOs debate on data management and digital energy

InnoGrid

The FSR and the Dutch Presidency of the Council of the EU are endorsing this year’s Innogrid 2020+, the Annual conference of ENTSO-E and EDSO[1].

Innogrid 2020+ is taking place in Brussels on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th June. This year’s edition, dedicated to ‘Digital Energy’, will investigate the innovation paradigm behind the distribution and transmission interface and inquire how regulation could facilitate the modernisation of the power system. Maroš Šefčovič (Vice-President and Commissioner for Energy Union) will open the event.

Leigh Hancher, FSR Director of Energy Law & Policy Area will moderate a session on ‘The Role of Innovation in the TSO-DSO Synergies’, while the FSR Director, Jean-Michel Glachant, will open Day Two with a session dedicated to ‘Big Data in Energy: Data Centers, Data Models, Data Management and the Way Forward of DSO and TSO’.

The panelists will explore how network operators can optimize operational assets and forecasting capabilities and drive customer engagement through big data analytics. The debate will also try to identify the best way to handle personal data and the consequential protection, privacy and retention issues generated by the technological revolution.

FSR will also award the young researcher who won the Call for Papers: ‘What digital energy and digital consumer means to you?’ jointly organised by the Florence School or Regulation, ENTSO-E and EDSO for Smart Grids in the conference context. The winner will be invited on stage to briefly present the paper, which will also be published on the co-organisers’ websites.
