Biography

Lukas Lanz is a consultant for energy transition at EBP Schweiz with a background in environmental and energy engineering. In his work, he consults national and subnational government agencies, as well as energy utilities and transport companies on energy and climate issues. His work focuses on renewable energy, energy systems and transport. Before that, he worked at the Energy and Technology Policy Group at ETH Zurich as a master student and research assistant.

Bessie Noll is a PhD candidate and researcher in the Energy and Technology Policy group at ETH Zurich. Her research focus is on the clean energy transition in the transport sector—more specifically, she examines how policy intervention can influence the development of clean energy drive-technologies and transitional outcomes in road freight. She holds a BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering (energy systems focus) from Stanford University.

Biography

Virginie Boutueil is a researcher in the socioeconomics of mobility field. Her research focuses on innovative mobility solutions, the digital transformation of mobility, and public policies. She holds an engineering degree, a master’s degree in energy and environmental economics and a doctorate in transport economics. She also worked for the Ministry of transport, at the General Directorate of Civil Aviation and at the French Embassy in China, before starting her career in academia.

Isabelle Nicolaï is a University Professor in Economics at the University of Paris Saclay (UVSQ) and a member of the Industrial Engineering Laboratory (LGI) of CentraleSupélec in the axe of Sustainable Economy and the transversal axe of Mobility.  She carries out research activities in France and other international contexts. Her main research themes cover the management of eco-innovation, the modeling of uses and practices linked to new mobility, the links between company performance and corporate social responsibility, multi-agent decision support models, as well as the monetization of environmental impacts.

Biography

Jakob Puchinger holds the Anthropolis chair at the IRT SystemX and CentraleSupélec. He is responsible for the scientific axis “Scientific calculation and optimization” at IRT SystemX and responsible for the “Operations management” team at the industrial engineering laboratory (LGI) of CentraleSupélec. Jakob Puchinger is also co-director of the Future Cities Lab at Centrale Beijing. His main research interests are in urban logistics, human-centered innovation for urban mobility as well as algorithmic optimization of the underlying transport systems. Jakob Puchinger is the author of over 80 scientific publications.

Biography

Mariana Reyes is a Mexican architect-urban planner graduated in 2020 of the Transport and Mobility master’s degree from the Paris Urban Planning School at the Gustave Eiffel University and the École des Ponts Paris Tech. Her master thesis research explored MaaS governance configurations as elements of consolidation or weakening of public transport services. She is currently doing her Ph.D. on Sustainable value creation mechanisms for sustainable MaaS solutions, from the governance and service-design approach. This research is carried out within the Anthropolis chair of IRT SystemX and the Industrial Engineering Laboratory (LGI) of CentraleSupélec-Université Paris-Saclay, under the direction of Isabelle Nicolaï, Jakob Puchinger and Virginie Boutueil. Her main research interests are sustainable mobility, and the socio-economic dynamics of mobility and urban planning.

Biography

André Andrade has over 20 years of professional experience in public policies, public management, economics and sustainability. During this time, he exceled technical, advisory, and managerial positions related to environmental and climate policies at different organizations in the Brazilian government. He was actively involved in many policies and governmental programs (e.g., climate governance; forest concessions, carbon pricing, payment for ecosystem services; environmental accounting). He has also developed a distinguished academic career, having been an Associate Professor of Economics at the State University of Santa Catarina (Brazil) and has many publications on the field of sustainability. André has a strong network with state and non-state stakeholders in the field of environment, climate change and energy, especially in Brazil, Latin America and Europe. More recently, he was co-author of the WRI study “A New Economy for a New Era: Elements for Building a More Efficient and Resilient Economy in Brazil”. He is currently PhD Candidate at University of Potsdam, where his research topic is entitled “Governing Climate Change in Brazil: a governance gap analysis of selected cases”.

Rachna Gangwar is Associate Professor & Head, Centre for Surface and Air Transport at Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management Ahmedabad. She has more than 20 years of experience working across industry and academia in India and Germany. Her teaching and research interests are in transport policy, public-private partnerships, urban transport systems, and logistics and supply chain management. She has written many case studies and published several refereed papers on contemporary issues in the Indian context. She has been a part of research projects undertaken for the erstwhile Planning Commission, Asian Development Bank, and Railway Board on private container train operations, railway turnaround, and PPPs in railways.

She received her Ph.D. in Public Administration from Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, India. She has worked as a Research Officer at Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management, India. She served as a Research Associate while contributing to two projects, at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). Her research focuses on urban governance, water and sanitation services and local administration.
