2nd Florence Rail Forum. Performance and Governance in Railway Markets

23 May 2011

Following the workshop that launched the Transport Area of the Florence School of Regulation on 9 April 2010 and the first Florence Rail Forum, held 15 November 2010 on “aims, models, and powers of rail regulators”, we turn our attention to performance in railways and to how such performance is linked to market organization. We are pleased to facilitate a stakeholder dialogue around the following three points:

  • What is performance in railways?
  • How can it be achieved?
  • (How) does market organization matter?

Keeping to one of FSR’s guiding principles, namely stakeholder involvement, this Second Forum features presentations from railway regulators, railway transport operators, infrastructure managers, an authority in charge of procuring rail services and, of course, representatives of the European Commission.
