Christopher Jones | S2E3 | The case for CCUS in EU industrial decarbonisation

In the third episode of the FSR Policy Briefcase – Season 2, hosts Leonardo Meeus and James Kneebone are joined by Part-time Professor Christopher Jones (FSR) to explore ideas for a roadmap on CCUS transport infrastructure. Building on Christopher’s recent Policy Brief, the discussion unpacks some of the main challenges inhibiting the buildout of a CCUS sector, why it is nevertheless important to persevere, and what kind of financing innovations could be most effective to get the infrastructure built. The episode also touches on the wider debate around industrial decarbonisation solutions, the compatibilities of different climate and industrial policies, as well as the importance of good data! This episode was recorded in November 2024.
