Athir holds two masters degrees in Digital Economy and Network Industry (Université Paris Sud, France) and in Electric Power Industry (Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Spain) obtained under the Erasmus Mundus EMIN program. During this program, he also was a visiting researcher at the Economic Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Prior to that, he graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the National Engineering School of Tunis (ENIT, Tunisia).
Before joining FSR in December 2017, Athir worked at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as an Energy expert for the German-Tunisian Energy Partnership and the Policy dialogue on low-emission strategies in the MENA Region projects.
He is part of the FSR research team in Electricity Regulation, his main research interests are EU Clean Energy Package and TSO-DSO coordination.
