Bertil Hylén has a B.A. in social sciences. He has worked for VTI Transport Research in Sweden and for the European Commission DG TREN. Bertil’s clients have included the EU, Ministries, Transport Authorities and various transport organisations and companies. Bertil has a broad experience of European rail and public transport affairs including participation in several EU projects. Bertil believes that urban and regional transport problems are much more important than interurban transport problems – but connecting modes is the real challenge.
After retirement from VTI Bertil is advising EU Research and Interreg projects as well as FSR-Transport. Bertil certainly believes that rail has a future but the sector needs a real shake-up!
