The 9th FSR Communication and Media Conference will be an opportunity to explore the adoption of the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC), it’s impact on very high capacity networks and the Directive’s transposition into national law, legislation critical to the strategy of the EU Digital Single Market.

Stakeholders representing the European institutions, NRAs, industry and academia will gather at the European University Institute in Florence to exchange ideas and reflect on a key objective of the EECC: stimulating investment in very high-capacity networks (VHCNs), particularly 5G and fibre, and ensuring fair competition between telecommunications operators and over-the-top players (OTTs).

The conference will consist of three panels and a keynote speech:

  • Co-investment and commercial agreements or wholesale-only: Which model will spur more incentives to invest?
  • Stimulating investment in 5G: balancing investment certainty and flexibility
  • The European Electronic Communications Code and its impact on VHCN
