The FSR C&M annual seminar brings together scholars in the fields of economics and law, as well as practitioners, to consider frontier research in media and telecommunications, with a goal of fostering research ideas and informing policy. The seminar will include 12-15 research papers presented over a two day period.

SUGGESTED TOPICS:

  • Economic and legal issues in media markets, telecommunications and the digital economy 
  • Regulation and competition policy of communications and media markets
  • Mergers and consolidations in communications and media markets 
  • Economic and legal issues of next-generation networks
  • Network competition and net neutrality 
  • Social media and advertising 
  • Media bias, advertiser bias, and the political economy of media markets
  • Data protection and the right to be forgotten
